Which Ufone codes are official?
Ufone documents two routes for account service: the UPTCL app and the 333 helpline. As of August 2026, its website does not list the *780*3# Ufone number check code anywhere. The code works because operators keep USSD menus running that users discovered and passed along, and codes like that can retire without any announcement.

One correction worth repeating, because several 2026 guides get it wrong: 667 only reads the SIM that sends the SMS, returning its own registered name, partly masked CNIC and activation date. It cannot take another person’s number as input.
Ufone number check code: what goes wrong?
Most failed Ufone checks trace back to six habits: dialling *336# instead of the full *336*1#, texting a CNIC to 668 with dashes in it, expecting 76367 to name a person, reading the network off a ported number’s prefix, dialling from the wrong SIM slot, and trusting a “SIM database” site. Each one has a quick fix.
- Dialling *336# for biometric status. The full string is *336*1#. The short one is where people stall. Every network’s code is on our SIM verification status check page.
- Adding dashes to your CNIC. SMS all 13 digits to 668 with no dashes and no spaces. The reply then counts your SIMs network by network, for about Rs 2.
- Expecting 76367 to name a person. SMS N and the number to 76367 and you get the current network. That is all it returns.
- Reading the network off the prefix. After a port, the prefix lies. Use 76367 for any number, and 667 for the SIM in your own hand.
- Dialling from the wrong slot. Most dual-SIM handsets ask which SIM should carry the dial. Pick the Ufone slot, or the reply comes back empty.
- Trusting a “SIM database” page. Sites that promise an owner name are selling a story, as our SIM database explainer shows, and every live tracker claim fails the same test. Authorities blocked 1,372 data-selling platforms by September 2025, plus 139 more in an NCCIA-led action that October.
Does the PTCL merger change any Ufone code?
No. The PTCL merger changes no Ufone dial code: your number check, biometric check and SIM-count codes all work the way they did before, because the brands and their codes stayed live through every stage. The Islamabad High Court approved folding Telenor Pakistan’s business into PTML, the licensed company behind Ufone, around 30 June 2026.
The paperwork ran in stages. The Competition Commission of Pakistan cleared the deal on 1 October 2025. PTA issued its decision on 30 November 2025. PTCL completed its purchase of Telenor Pakistan on 31 December 2025, and took it on as a fully owned unit. The Islamabad High Court’s approval closed the sequence.
The scale is easy to miss. PTA figures reported by PhoneWorld put the PTCL group at 35.91 percent of the market in May 2026, with Jazz on 36.42 and Zong on 26.62. As of June 2026, per PTA’s telecom indicators, Pakistan carried 208,057,255 mobile subscribers, with Ufone at 30,810,942 and Telenor Pakistan at 44,046,436. June is also the last month those indicators show Telenor as a separate line; from 1 July 2026 its numbers consolidate into PTML. Back at the end of February 2026, the national total stood at 204.771 million.
So treat the merger as company news, not code news. *780*3#, *336*1#, 668, 667 and 76367 all behave the way this page describes.

668 turns one number into your whole SIM record. The dial code names the number in your pocket, and that is step one. SMS your 13-digit CNIC to 668 for about Rs 2, or use cnic.sims.pk, the PTA SIM Information System, free. The reply counts your SIMs on every network at once.
The law sets the ceiling at 8 SIMs per CNIC: 5 voice and 3 data. The Supreme Court fixed that cap on 5 November 2015. If the count looks wrong, disowning is cheap: PTA capped the fee at Rs 200 on 1 January 2024, and waived it in fraud cases. A wrong count can also be the first hint that your details sit in Pakistani leaked data, so that check is worth a minute too. One newer rule matters as well, because a PTA advisory of 24 May 2026 puts a 365-day lock on disowning or transferring a new SIM.
