Note the last row carefully. The 76367 reply names a network, and nothing else. No official channel returns a stranger’s identity, and that limit is the point of the whole system.
How do I check my Telenor BVS status?
Send any SMS to 7751 from the Telenor SIM, and read the reply. The message may even be blank. PTA’s own information page confirms that the blank message works, which is why we print it plainly instead of hedging. This is the gentlest biometric check of the four networks.
Jazz asks you to text your CNIC to 6001. Zong wants the letter V sent to 7911. Ufone uses the dial *336*1#. Telenor asks for nothing at all. One empty message, one reply, and the SIM’s verification status is settled.
What an unverified reply means
An unverified result is a franchise visit, not a crisis. Take your original CNIC to a Telenor franchise or service centre. A live thumb impression is captured, matched against NADRA records, and the SIM is cleared. Fifteen minutes is typical. Telenor extras worth knowing
Two more Telenor strings are genuinely useful. Marketing calls stop through the Do Not Call register, which Telenor exposes as *3627#, and the shared DNC shortcode is 3627. Handset identity is separate again: dial *#06# to read your IMEI, then SMS it to 8484 to check DIRBS registration. Neither string touches SIM ownership.
Did the PTML merger change Telenor codes?
No. The codes, the prefixes and your registration record all survived the deal. Telenor Pakistan amalgamated into PTML under a court-approved scheme around 1 July 2026, and only the parent company changed. Telenor is the one network where “is this current?” is a fair question, so here is the dated trail.
- 1 October 2025: the Competition Commission approved the transaction.
- 30 November 2025: PTA issued its decision.
- 31 December 2025: PTCL completed the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan as a full subsidiary.
- Around 1 July 2026: the court-approved amalgamation into PTML took effect.
PTML is the licensee behind Ufone, so the two brands now share a parent. Telenor brought 44,046,436 subscribers into the group as of June 2026, per PTA’s telecom indicators, the last month with a standalone Telenor line in those tables. Your SIM keeps working. The merger scam to expect
Ignore any message demanding that you “re-register” for the merger. Official changes never arrive by WhatsApp. That pattern is documented in our Pak SIM Data investigation. The reply lists your SIMs network by network, Telenor included. The total answers to the cap of eight per CNIC, which is five voice lines and three data lines. That cap comes from a Supreme Court ruling dated 5 November 2015. PTA’s telecom indicators put Pakistan at 208,057,255 mobile subscribers as of June 2026, so the registry is doing real work.
A worked example
Say the reply shows three Telenor lines and you recognise two. The third is the one to act on. Do not phone a stranger, and do not hunt for the user. Take your original CNIC to a Telenor franchise and start the disowning process. The fee is capped at Rs 200, and it is waived where fraud is involved.
Two timing rules matter here. A second new SIM issued on the same CNIC carries a seven-day NADRA wait, effective 24 January 2024. New SIMs also carry a 365-day lock on disowning and transfer, under a PTA advisory dated 24 May 2026. Neither rule blocks a fraud complaint.
