RAABTA: PTA’s WhatsApp Assistant for SIM Checks — How to Use It (Works From Abroad)

August 28, 2026

RAABTA is PTA’s official WhatsApp assistant on 0315-0055055. Message it and follow the menu to check the SIMs on your own CNIC, check a device’s registration status, or file a PTA complaint. It is free to use beyond your normal data or message cost, and it works for overseas Pakistanis who do not have a local SIM to hand. Like every official channel, RAABTA only shows the record for the CNIC you are entitled to check — your own. It cannot look up a stranger. Here is exactly what it does, how to use it, and where it fits alongside the checks at Check SIM Owner Details Pakistan.

Key takeaways

  • RAABTA is PTA’s WhatsApp Digital Assistant, launched on 26 February 2026, reachable at 0315-0055055.
  • It is menu-driven: you tap options rather than type long questions.
  • It can help you check SIM information on your CNIC, check a device’s IMEI / DIRBS status, and file or track a PTA complaint.
  • It works for overseas Pakistanis from any WhatsApp, without needing a local Pakistani SIM to start.
  • It is an assistant that routes you to official results. It is not a way to search anyone else’s details, and no such lawful search exists.
  • The classic checks still work too: SMS your CNIC to 668 for about Rs 2, or open cnic.sims.pk free.

PTA runs a spread of contact points, and it is easy to confuse them. RAABTA is the WhatsApp assistant. The Consumer Support Centre helpline is 0800-55055, open 9am to 9pm, seven days a week. Formal complaints also live at the PTA Complaint Management System. This guide is about RAABTA specifically.

What is RAABTA?

RAABTA is the name PTA gives its WhatsApp-based digital assistant. PTA announced it on 26 February 2026 as a menu-driven service that answers common telecom questions and routes you to the right official process. If you open a chat with it, it introduces itself: “Salaam! I’m RAABTA, your PTA digital assistant.”

The point of RAABTA is reach. A helpline needs a phone call in working hours. A web portal needs a browser and, for some checks, a Pakistani number to receive a code. WhatsApp sits on almost every phone, works across borders, and keeps a written thread you can scroll back through. That is why it matters especially to Pakistanis living abroad.

One number, spelled two ways

You will see the number written as 0315-0055055 and as 03150055055. They are the same number. Save it as a contact before you message, so you are sure you are talking to the real assistant and not a copycat.

What can RAABTA actually do?

RAABTA is a front door to PTA’s existing services, presented as a chat menu. The table below sets out what it helps with and what the result really is, so you know what to expect before you message.

You want to… What RAABTA does What you get
Check SIMs on your CNIC Guides you to the SIM information service for your own CNIC The count and details of SIMs registered to you, the same data as 668 and cnic.sims.pk
Check a phone’s status Runs an IMEI / DIRBS check Whether that device is registered and compliant to work on Pakistani networks
Report a problem Helps you file a PTA complaint and gives you a way to track it A logged complaint in PTA’s system, with a reference
Get general guidance Answers common questions from a menu Official information about SIMs, devices and complaints

Notice the pattern. Every option is about your own account, your own device, or a complaint you are entitled to file. That is not a limitation to work around. It is the law working as intended.

How to use RAABTA, step by step

The whole thing takes a couple of minutes. You do not install anything beyond WhatsApp, which you almost certainly already have.

  1. Save the number. Add 0315-0055055 to your contacts as “PTA RAABTA”. This makes sure you are messaging the official assistant.
  2. Open WhatsApp and start a chat with that contact.
  3. Send a greeting such as “Hi” or “Salaam”. RAABTA replies with a menu.
  4. Pick the option you need — SIM information, device or IMEI check, or complaint — by tapping or replying with the listed choice.
  5. Follow the prompts. For a SIM check it will walk you through the official SIM information step for your own CNIC. For a device it will ask for the IMEI. For a complaint it will collect the details.
  6. Read and save the result. Because it is a chat, the answer stays in your thread. Screenshot it if you need a record.

For overseas Pakistanis

This is where RAABTA earns its place. You do not need a live Pakistani SIM to start a WhatsApp chat with it, so you can reach PTA’s system from anywhere in the world. That is a real gap it fills, because some other checks assume you can receive an SMS on a Pakistani number.

RAABTA, 668 or cnic.sims.pk — which should you use?

They overlap, and that is fine. Use whichever suits where you are. All three return your own record and cost little or nothing.

Channel Best when… Cost
SMS to 668 You are in Pakistan with the SIM in your phone and want the count fast About Rs 2
cnic.sims.pk portal You want it free, on a screen, as a dated counts table Free
RAABTA on WhatsApp You are abroad, or you also want a device check or to file a complaint in the same place Free beyond data

If you are inside Pakistan and only want your SIM count, the 668 SMS is still the quickest single step. Our guide to how many SIMs are on your CNIC covers 668 and the portal in full, and RAABTA is the third door to the same room.

What RAABTA will not do — and why

RAABTA will not tell you who owns someone else’s number. No official Pakistani service will, because a stranger’s SIM record is not public and reading it without authority is an offence. RAABTA checks the CNIC you are entitled to check, which is your own.

Keep two habits in mind while you use it.

  • Use only the official number. Scammers copy government branding. The assistant is 0315-0055055. Anything promising to reveal a stranger’s name, or asking for a fee or an OTP to “unlock” details, is not PTA.
  • Never share an OTP or a biometric scan because a chat asked for it. RAABTA does not need your one-time passwords, and no genuine SIM check is completed by handing over a code.

The boundary is the same one that runs through everything on this site. You can see your own record freely. A stranger’s record is off-limits, and that is set out on our PECA 2016 legality page. RAABTA fits neatly inside that line.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RAABTA WhatsApp number?

RAABTA is PTA’s official WhatsApp assistant on 0315-0055055, also written 03150055055. Save it as a contact, then send a greeting to get the menu. PTA launched it on 26 February 2026.

Can I use RAABTA from outside Pakistan?

Yes. RAABTA works on WhatsApp, so overseas Pakistanis can message it from any country without a local Pakistani SIM to start. This is one of its main advantages over checks that need a Pakistani number to receive an SMS.

Can RAABTA tell me who owns another person’s SIM?

No. RAABTA only helps with the CNIC and devices you are entitled to check — your own. No lawful service in Pakistan returns a stranger’s SIM owner details from a number. Any site or chat claiming to do so is a scam and, for the person searching, a PECA 2016 offence.

Is RAABTA free?

Using RAABTA on WhatsApp costs nothing beyond your normal data or message charges. It does not charge a fee to check your SIMs, check a device, or file a complaint. Any demand for payment to “unlock” a result is a scam, not PTA.

What else can I contact PTA on?

Besides RAABTA, PTA runs the Consumer Support Centre helpline 0800-55055, open 9am to 9pm seven days a week, and the online Complaint Management System for formal complaints. For your SIM count you can also SMS your CNIC to 668 or use the free cnic.sims.pk portal.
