ONIC: app-first, eSIM-first, PTML-owned
ONIC is the newest name and the easiest to misread. It is not a seventh licence but an app-first brand of PTML, the company behind Ufone. It rides Ufone’s network, eSIM-first, with its whole service surface inside the Onic app. PTA published a clarification pinning that parentage when the brand launched.
That answers the trust question: an ONIC line is a PTA-licensed operator’s SIM in the same national registry, not an app-store experiment. Activation still runs the live NADRA fingerprint match, so an ONIC eSIM appears in your 668 count exactly like a plastic Ufone SIM.
ONIC checks: the app is the whole surface
- Own number and account: the Onic app, which is the entire service channel, support included. From another phone, ring your own handset and read the display.
- Biometric: handled in-app during activation and, being PTML, escalating to the same infrastructure as Ufone where needed.
- Count and disowning: universal — CNIC to 668 or cnic.sims.pk, then the franchise route for anything unfamiliar.
- Prefixes: 0339 and the 0371–0379 series, though a ported-in number keeps its old prefix; 76367 settles it.

Here is the reassuring part for anyone on a network the mainstream ignores: the checks that matter most do not care about your operator’s size. Your SIM count comes from 668 or the free portal. A SIM in your hand answers to MNP on 667, a number’s network comes from 76367, and an unfamiliar entry gets disowned at the franchise — capped at Rs 200, waived in fraud.
